The Rea Meir Group

Not many know this about me, but besides composing for media, arranging and orchestrating, I'm also a sax player and an EWI player.

Stellar Objects is my latest album. Not film-scoring music, but a jazz fusion album featuring the EWI as the main instrument.

I have a confession to make - I LOVE the EWI. The EWI is an Electronic Wind Instrument, which I love also as a midi controller which allows me more expressive playing as a composer for film, and I love it as a musical instrument. When I first heard it, as a saxophone player, I felt as if I was a classical guitar player first learning there was an electric guitar - the sound, the power, the possibilities are endless.

The Rea Meir Group was formed recently with the release of my latest album, but we've been playing together on different occasions for over 20 years, which creates a special chemistry and dynamics on stage.

the members of the band are:

Rea Meir - EWI

Shai Sobol - Guitar
Yaniv Shalev - Bass
Itay Hibsher - Drums

For all you hebrew speakers out there, had a great time giving an interview to the wonderful Yotam Ziv, on his radio show "Israeli Jazz" at radio 106.2 FM
